Fr. David Trujillo, who has been celebrating Mass at St. Joseph Villa for the past two years, relies on a cadre of volunteers to help minister.  Volunteer positions include greeters, ushers, musicians, sacristans, Communion ministers, acolytes and readers who serve during Sunday Mass and a Wednesday Holy Hour.

Several additional volunteers help residents to and from their rooms or the community dining area for these devotions.

“Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community,” Fr. Trujillo said. “They enrich the lives of the Catholic residents by building relationships with them.”

For Sunday services, the chapel is filled with Villa residents, their families, friends and visitors from other parishes, Ft. Trujillo said. These volunteers are not part of the formal organization that is disbanding in December and will continue to help the Villa’s residents attend Mass and Holy Hour.
