Multicultural Christmas

The 2nd Annual Multicultural Christmas Celebration, Songs of Christmas – Voices of the World was presented by Saint George parochial vicar, Father Tai Nguyen and parishioners on Dec. 20 in Kuzy Hall. Carole Drake assisted mistress of ceremonies. Christmas carols were sung by French, Vietnamese, Spanish, English, Filipino and Samoan singers. Among them was Kent Del Valle, 21, from the Philippines. He performed several selections, including a couple of solo pieces. Del Valle has been singing and been involved in declamation contests, performing poetry, since elementary school. He also plays guitar and piano and is preparing to return to the Philippines where, in less than a year, he will receive his Bachelor of Music in music education from the Philippine Women’s University. His dream is to perform with The Metropolitan Opera. Santa arrived at the conclusion of the program to present gifts to the young children in the audience. Courtesy photo
