SALT LAKE CITY — Nevah Stevenson, a Saint John the Baptist parishioner, has been selected as the new director for the Catholic Foundation of Utah.

The CFU manages almost 400 endowments that have been established over the past three decades by individuals, families and organizations for the benefit of the Diocese of Salt Lake City. These endowments provide for numerous ministries of the local Church, including individual parishes, seminarian and priest formation, youth ministry and missionary outreach, among many others.

Stevenson, who has been a resident of Draper for 30 years, was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. She is a graduate of Boston University, with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in French literature.

Most recently, she served as the director of major gifts for Rowland Hall. She has also worked at Shriners Children’s Hospital as a physician liaison. Previous to that, she was the director of advancement at St. John the Baptist elementary and middle schools, where she also managed development, public relations and marketing. She was also a substitute teacher.

In addition, she has been a council member for the Utah Developmental Disabilities Council and a board member and board secretary at the Skaggs Catholic Center schools.

Stevenson, who is married and has three adult sons, will begin her new position as director of the Catholic Foundation of Utah on May 2.

The search committee members for the CFU director’s position were Monsignor J. Terrence Fitzgerald, assistant to Bishop Oscar A. Solis; Candice Greenwald, the diocesan chief financial officer; Dolores L. Lopez, the diocesan human resources director; and three members of the CFU Board of Trustees: Howie Lemcke, president; Kristine Rogers, vice president; and Kevin Murphy, secretary.
