Our Lady of Lourdes Students Sacrifice Friday Lunch at Lent

Every Friday during Lent Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School students and their teachers celebrate a Lenten tradition by eating a bowl of rice in place of their normal lunch. The money saved by not purchasing/bringing lunch is put in their paper “rice bowls” at home and donated to Catholic Relief Services at the end of Lent.  This is a symbol of the school’s commitment to Jesus’ command to ‘Love thy neighbor.’
