Happy Anniversary! Fr. Alois Sasati Magige, ALCP, parochial vicar of Saint Thomas More Parish, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his priestly ordination July 2.

Award Winners! At the June 26 Catholic Press Association banquet, the Intermountain Catholic was presented with five awards. In our circulation category, Archbishop John C. Wester took first place in the Best Editorial - Local Issue for “Legislature frittering away chance to expand Medicaid” and tied for second place in the Best Editorial - National/International Issue for “Yes, laws must be observed, but the real issue is, what can we do to help the children?”
In the Spanish Best Editorial category, Archbishop Wester placed second with “La le debe de seguirse, ¿pero y los niños?” 
Also in our circulation category, Marie Mischel placed second in the Feature Writing category with “Two commended for actions during 2013 shooting at Saint James the Just Catholic Church in Ogden.”
In the open category, which means she was competing against all newspapers regardless of circulation, Jean Hill took honorable mention for the second year in a row in the Best Regular Column - General Commentary category.
Mischel also took honorable mention in the  humor/lifestyle column category of the Society of Professional Journalists Utah Headliners chapter’s 2015 contest. The awards were presented at a June 18 dinner.

Memories! Judge Memorial CHS yearbook has been named a 2015 Jostens National Yearbook Program of Excellence. 

We’ve Got Spirit! Judge Memorial Catholic High School cheer squad has received three Spirit Sticks from three different competitions, the Most Improved Award, and the prestigious Tradition Award for “inspiring leadership on and off the field.”
