July 22, 1941 ~ February 29, 2020
Patricia Lynn Hall Salser, age 78, died February 29, 2020, surrounded by her children at her home in Nampa, Idaho.
Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, “Relax, Friend, it’s just a bend, not the end!”
Pat Salser was born July 22, 1941, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Charles James Hall and Dorothy Jean Peay Hall. She married Gary Donald Salser in 1958 in Arco, Butte, Idaho.
They moved to Salt Lake City and became avid University of Utah fans, enjoying U of U tailgating and games. Pat worked closely with St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center. She loved the members, the sermons taught and the music shared. Her Newman family was very special to her.
Pat enjoyed family holiday gatherings, trips, dance competitions and shopping. Who can forget the ugly sweater competition, the taste sensation of Beef Wellington, the cakes, cookies, cards, gifts and LOVE. Her family photos tell it all.
When she was in her 60s, Pat graduated in business from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She succeeded in accounting and other business activities. She enjoyed coffee lattes with her associates and appreciated friends who helped her through the day and sometimes the night.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by their two children, Donald Troy (Heather) Salser and Tracey Lynn Salser (Gordon) Terry; grandchildren Kimber, Case, Ryan and Aaron; two great-grandchildren; brother Michael (Gwen) Hall of Bountiful; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Joan Salser Davis, and Carolyn Salser (Gene) Puls of Idaho.
A funeral Mass was celebrated March 9 at St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center. Committal, Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pat did not falter. She sacrificed and endured as she finished her earth life. She knew that this life was only a bend, not the end.
