Practice pilgrimage

On June 25, St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish’s “little rock church” in Midvale, which was dedicated in 1928, was the site of morning prayer for a group of pilgrims from St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center in Salt Lake City. Afterward, the group walked about 10 miles along the Jordan River Parkway. The purpose was “to experience how a walk may be more than a walk” and to experience sacredness and the Lord’s presence in different settings, said Dominican Father Lukasz Misko, pastor of St. Catherine’s, who led the walk. For many members of the group, the walk was a foretaste of the pilgrimage they will undertake in Poland and Italy as they combine a trip to World Youth Day with a trip to St. Dominic’s birthplace in honor of the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Order of Preachers.
