Preparing for the Parade

St. Francis of Assisi Parish's ballet folklorico group participated in the Orem City Summer Fest on June 15, and parents and volunteers spent several hours placing on the float the decorations that they made by hand. Members of the group rode on the float during the parade. Ballet folklorico is a style of Mexican folk dancing. The parish's dance troupe was begun as part of the small communities' initiative, which gathers parishioners into small groups for faith formation and evangelization. IC photo/Laura Vallejo
