SALT LAKE CITY — A small crowd gathered at the Monument for Unborn Children in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery Jan. 21, to pray for the victims of abortions including the mothers and fathers who are suffering with the aftermath of their decisions. The vigil was held in conjunction with the 34th Annual March for Life in Washington, D. C., which marks the 34th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in the United States. "Abortion is not a choice, it is not family planning, and it is not a woman’s right, it is a constitutional right to kill human beings," said Father Erik Richtsteig, pastor of St. James Parish, Ogden. "Abortion is appalling." Fr. Richtsteig said we need to pray and educate those people who favor abortion, because people can be changed through prayer. We have to speak for those without a voice.
