Rosary for Priests

The Diocese of Salt Lake City participated in the June 7 Annual Global Rosary Relay for the Sanctification of Priests. At the Cathedral of the Madeleine, the rosary was led by Maria Velez-Tuero, the diocesan receptionist (shown); Deacon Anthony Shumway, who will be ordained a priest on June 28; Maria Cruz Gray, director of the Office of Hispanic Ministry; Nell Cline, assistant in the Office of the Vicar for Clergy; and Arthur Becerra, assistant to the Office of Worship.

The Diocese of Salt Lake City participated in the June 7 Annual Global Rosary Relay for the Sanctification of Priests. This is the third year that the diocese has joined the prayer chain, which is in its 15th year. Each diocese is assigned a time; the Cathedral of the Madeleine received the relay from the Templo San Juan Bautista in San Juancito, Honduras. After the rosary at 4 p.m. local time, Utah handed it off to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newburgh, N.Y.
