Rose L. Fuoco

December 15, 1931 ~ June 16, 2021

Rose was born on December 15, 1931, to Sam and Frances Fuoco.

She graduated from West High School and went on to Stevens-Henager College to get her secretarial training.  She began her professional career as an administrative secretary with the Union Pacific Railroad, where she was employed for 39 years until her retirement in 1993.

During retirement, Rose did volunteer work for the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau for several years.  She was very involved in the Italian American Civic League Women’s Chapter, serving in various capacities. As a young adult, she was elected the Italian Day queen at the Lagoon festivities of the Italian American Civic League. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and attended nearly every function until her health did not allow it. She was also very devoted to her faith and was one of the longest-surviving members of St. Patrick Parish at the time of her death. Rose was a very elegant and soft-spoken lady throughout her life.

She leaves behind her brother Sam, sister Louise Harris, as well numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her parents Sam and Frances, brother-in-law Ray Harris as well as numerous cousins.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church on June 29. Interment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

We would like to express our thanks to the staff of Tradition Assisted Living for the care and respect that they gave to Rose as a resident and the family over the last three years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rose’s name to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
