Rose Varela Yribar

SALT LAKE CITY — Rose Varela Yribar, 92, died Nov. 24, after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a member of St. Ambrose Parish for more than 30 years.

Yribar was born Aug. 30, 1915, to Aniceto and Maria Diaz Barela in Ogden. She graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 1934. She married John Yribar Feb. 26, 1942. He preceded her in death. After 28 years of service, she retired from First Interstate Bank and Trust in 1980.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Judy) Yribar, Salt Lake City, and Rita Yribaar (Bob McElroy) Anacortes, Wash.; brothers and sister, Edward (Val) Varela, Colorado Springs, Colo., Frank (Shirley) Robles, Centerville, Carmen Robles, Sausalito, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church. Committal was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
