OGDEN- Saint Joseph Catholic High School's 33 seniors graduated with pomp and circumstance during the commencement ceremony presided over by the Most Rev. John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake City, May 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odgen.

"I'm really excited because I have been here since kindergarten, so I have been here for a long time," said Cortnie Kelly Murphy, one of the graduating seniors.

Each of the commencement speakers had advice for those about to graduate.

"Always remember the good little things," said Elizabeth Foreman, a Saint Joseph's teacher, during her keynote address.

"Be proud and confident of everything you do," said Salutatorian Melissa Ruth Frogh. "Never forget where you came from; always remember no matter the challenge you can do it, and to you, Class of 2010, I thank you for the experience."

Norman Allred, principal of Saint Joseph School, was in charge of reading the diploma text: "Class of 2010 has completed satisfactorily the course of study of this high school; here is this diploma."

The diplomas were delivered to each student by Bishop Wester, Superintendent of Catholic Schools Holy Cross Sister Catherine Kamphaus, and Allred.

"It is just excitement for it, we have been preparing for it," said Taylor Christine Jensen, adding that some of what she learned at Saint Joseph is "to follow your dreams do what you want and get it."

After the diplomas were presented, Kimberly Beger, Senior Class Advisor, gave the Recognition of Lifers and Taylor Seale gave the Valedictory Address.

Sr. Catherine gave the closing remarks and benediction, while Allred said the final blessing:

"May the Holy Spirit of Jesus walk with our graduates as they come to the end of one road and begin their journey on another. May the Holy Spirit of Wisdom guide them as they face new challenges and make new choices for the future. May the Holy Spirit of Love surround them as they continue to grow in wisdom and grace."

"I feel prepared. I feel ready; I feel like I'm ready to move on. I'm ready to go," said senior Jonathan Stephen Bafford.
