BOUNTIFUL — On June 1, students, faculty, parents and guests of Saint Olaf School in Bountiful were treated to a play presented by the eighth-grade class, "Bottle of Joy." The humorous play is about a fictional kingdom called Happy, where all the citizens are always happy because of the King’s king-size bottle of joy. After many amusing adventures and personal experiences, the citizens discover that true happiness does not come from a bottle, but from within oneself.

Not only was the play entertaining, but was a great example to the audience about the importance of values they have learned during their years at school. In addition to performing the play, the students, guided by art teacher Kathy Dorich, created and designed the elaborate scenery and props for the presentation. They spent more than a month practicing and working on all aspects of the play with teachers Matt Pack and Marshall Kay. The cast of characters included Johnathon Rodriguez, Chris Chacon, Olivia Jacobs, Cam Ballard, Josh Anderson, David Collard, Aubrey Suchar and Parker Depasquale. As with most events at the school, the parents were an important part of the event, helping with preparation, costumes and their consistent support of the students’ activities.
