Simbang Gabi novena at St. James; diocesan posadas not yet planned

SALT LAKE CITY — This year, because of the pandemic, the traditional Simbang Gabi novena will be held at only one parish, rather than different parishes each night.

Saint James the Just Parish will host the Simbang Gabi celebrations each night from Dec. 16 to Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. at the church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden.

Also because of the limits on social gatherings due to the pandemic, the traditional diocesan posadas, which typically took place at different parishes in the nine days prior to Christmas, have not been planned, although they have not been canceled. Additional information will be announced as it becomes available.
