Sister M. Rita Bernard

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Holy Cross Sister M. Rita Bernard (Maria Adelle Brady) died Nov. 4, at Saint Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame, Ind.

Sr. M. Rita was born June 5, 1911, in Appleton, Wisc. In her apostolic service, she was an elementary school teacher at schools in California, Idaho, and Utah. From 1944 to 1958, she taught elementary education at St. Mary of the Wasatch Academy in Salt Lake City. She taught elementary education at St. Joseph’s School in Ogden from 1954 to 1955. Sr. M. Rita was an audio visual director at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, Salt Lake City from 1977 to 1982.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Notre Dame, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, 401 Bertrand Hall, Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana 46556.
