The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Tuesday, Dec. 8, is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses at the Cathedral of the Madeleine will be at 8 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. The vigil Mass will be 5:15 p.m. Dec. 7. Check your local parish for Mass times.
 
The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas and secondary patroness of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, is Saturday, Dec. 12. The cathedral celebrations in Spanish will begin Friday at 9:30 p.m. with an outdoor procession, followed by a vigil inside at 10 p.m. and Mass at 11 p.m. A reception with traditional refreshments will follow. Mass in English will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday in the cathedral, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Other parishes in the diocese also will have celebrations; check for times.
 
The Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord, Friday, Dec. 25 is a holy day of obligation. Mass times for the Cathedral of the Madeleine are Dec. 24, 6 p.m. and midnight (bilingual, with the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra); Dec. 25, 8 and 10 a.m., noon (with the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra), and 3 p.m. Spanish Mass with the Cathedral Spanish Choir. At 5 p.m. will be Vespers and Benediction with the Cathedral Choir. Other parishes throughout the diocese will have various Mass times; check their schedule.
