Solemnity of Mary

Jan. 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. While this remains a holy day, as has been the custom in the Diocese of Salt Lake City, Bishop John C. Wester has dispensed from the obligation of attending Mass. Nonetheless, all are encouraged to participate in the Eucharist on this feast to celebrate the birth of the Lord, honor the Blessed Mother and pray for God’s blessing on the new calendar year.  

El 1ero. De enero es la Solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios. Mientras este es un día sagrado, tal como lo ha sido siempre en la Diócesis de Salt Lake City, el Obispo John Wester ha dispensado la obligación de asistir a Misa. Sin embargo, todos están invitados a participar en la Eucaristía de esta festividad para celebrar el nacimiento del Señor, honrar a la Santa Madre y orar a Dios por sus bendiciones para este nuevo año.
