Statement from Bishop Solis on the passing of Jon Huntsman, Sr.

Jon Huntsman Sr., 80, died Feb. 2018, in Salt Lake City. The Most Rev. Oscar A. Solis, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City, issued the following statement on the passing of the Utah billionaire and philanthropist:

“Few Utahns have had more impact on the state than Jon Huntsman, Sr. and his family. His foresight, generosity, and concern for the common good have benefited the most vulnerable, the seriously ill, and the suffering.

“Catholic Community Services of Utah has been uniquely blessed because of Jon Huntsman’s legacy of generosity.  He has given hope to many through his acts of kindness, concern, and genuine charity.

“We ask God’s blessing on his family and that the Lord will reward Jon Huntsman, Sr. for his goodness.”
