February 14, 1942 ~ February 5, 2023

Though difficult, we must say goodbye to our beloved family member Theodore “Ted” Vialpando.

Ted was 80 years old when he passed away on February 5, 2023 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was born on February 14, 1942 to Ferman and Eva Vialpando in Salt Lake City, the second of twelve children: Joe, Ray, Dave, Ruben, Michael, Linda, Gloria, Mary Ann, Ranee, Terrie and Lisa.

After his primary education, he joined the U.S. Army, becoming a military veteran with honors.

Following his military service, he traveled the western region of the United States as a field operator for a public service natural gas company. He finally settled in Grand Junction until retirement. He was an avid coin collector who loved restoring cars, creative art and antiques. He attended technical art school, where he studied graphic arts and learned to sketch beautiful portraits of the people he loved using pencil and charcoal.

He is survived by four amazing children: Nick, Donna, Launa and Philip; siblings Gloria, Ranee, Michael and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews who love him. Ted will be missed and never forgotten by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church, Salt Lake City, on March 4.
