SALT LAKE CITY — St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School congratulates Bishop George H. Niederauer on his elevation as Archbishop of San Francisco. We thank him for his many years of support and dedication to Utah Catholic Schools. He has encouraged the growth of the Catholic school system and his pastoral guidance has created a safer environment for children throughout the Salt Lake Diocese. God Bless You!

BOUNTIFUL — The students, staff, and community of St. Olaf School would like to wish Bishop George Niederauer many blessings in his future endeavors as Archbishop of San Francisco.

Though he will truly be missed, his leadership and legacy will not be forgotten. God Bless,

KEARNS — From our dealings with Bishop Niederauer, we can tell he is devoted to the Word and to words. His love for and knowledge of the Gospel shows in every homily he preaches. In the Diocese of Salt Lake City, we are fortunate his homilies are often printed in the Intermountain Catholic, so those who could not hear him preach can read the ideas and interpretations he found in the scripture readings.

We at St. Francis Xavier Regional School know the bishop loves words by his homilies. They read well. His wit, his honesty, and his well-phrased directness show through paragraph by paragraph. We have heard his urbane comments, and we especially loved the times he came to Read-Across America Day at our school, to read to the students and pursue with them one of his great pleasures, the reading of literature.

All the best to Bishop Niederauer as he continues to serve our Church. Our advice to the people of San Francisco would be: Ask him to share a few words.
