SNOWBIRD — A random act of kindness brightened the day recently for a local military veteran.
Thomas Linton, who was on active duty in the U.S. Army for the past three years and previously served in the National Guard for two years, was the recipient of a fellow citizen’s gratitude.
On July 3, Linton and his family were at Snowbird, “just relaxing at our time share,” said Linton, when “I walked up to my truck and there was a note hanging from the door.”
The unsigned note said “Dear Veteran, Thank you for your service to our country! May Heavenly Father bless you and your family because of your selfless sacrifice and may He bless this country at this time! Sincerely, your fellow American.”
Although the author is anonymous, Linton believes that the person saw a sticker on the back of his vehicle that indicated his military service.
Linton, a member of San Andres Parish in Payson, said that the note was “very polite and very nice. I felt very appreciated, and it showed people actually still care out there.” He said it was nice to know people are “supporting the troops and that they’re thankful for what they do.”
