Victoria Riga

SALT LAKE CITY — Victoria Riga, 89, died March 18.

Riga was born Aug. 16, 1917, in Salt Lake City to Michael and Jennie Miglanico Riga. During World War II, Tory was one of the few small enough to work as a riveter in the nose of a bomber. Later she worked as a secretary at San Gabriel Catholic High School in California. She was a devout Catholic and served in the Women’s Altar Society and the Catholic Woman’s League. She loved to crochet, knit, and quilt, and was always making quilts, afghans, doilies, tablecloths, and bedspreads for family and friends.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at CHRISTUS St. Joseph Villa. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
