Vocations Special Issue

National Vocation Awareness Week, which this year will be Nov. 3-9, is an annual celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States “dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renewing our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations,” according to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
The Catholic Church also recognizes that each member of the laity is called to a vocation: “The vocation of humanity is to show forth the image of God and to be transformed into the image of the Father’s only Son. This vocation takes a personal form since each of us is called to enter into the divine beatitude; it also concerns the human community as a whole” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1877).
In recognition of National Vocation Awareness Week, the Intermountain Catholic has published the vocation stories of two seminarians, a novice in a women's religious order, a married couple and a single person. Click on the links to read the stories.
