OGDEN — William Howard Thompson, 85, died Dec. 23. He was a member of St. James Parish, Ogden.

Thompson was born Sept. 19, 1921, in New York City, N.Y., to Harry Howard and Susan Creamer Thompson. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during World War II. Thompson married Marianne DuBois June 4, 1954, in Long Beach, Calif., and lived in Los Alamitos until moving to Ogden 19 years ago. He loved playing golf and bridge, doing woodworking and gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; three sons, William Roch Thompson, Ogden, Matthew Kirk Thompson, Anaheim, Calif., and Mark Patrick Thompson, New York; one grandson, Matthew Kirk Thompson, Jr.; sister, Emma Lou Hook, Folsom, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Patricia (Roger) Clements.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in California.
