Mary, Mother of Mercy
We cannot understand Jesus without Mary.
Holy Mary is often associated with God’s Mercy. During the rosary we pray the litanies: Health for the sick, consolation for sinners, comfort for the afflicted, Mother of our Savior, Mother of mercy.
Because of that Mary has a very important role in this Year of Mercy; it is through her that God’s mercy reaches us. She said it in the Magnificat: “His mercy reaches the faithful generation after generation.”
So if we want to feel mercy, we need to get closer to her. She will take us in and teach us how to be merciful to others.
Every time that we pray the holy rosary, we get closer to God’s mercy. I invite you, in this Year of Mercy, to pray together with Mary, asking for God’s mercy for the whole world.
