Recital by Emma Whitten, associate organist at Christ Cathedral in the Catholic Diocese of Orange County, Calif., featuring an early Baroque and contemporary repertoire. Eccles Organ Festival Open Gallery Night — Friday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Enjoy a private tour led by one of the cathedral tour guides, learn about the history and functioning of the organ, and play your favorite music on the cathedral’s Eccles Memorial organ. St. Carlo Acutis Youth Rally — Saturday, Nov. 15 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 690 S. Cove Dr., Cedar City. Registration 7:30 a.m., programs 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. For youth ages 13-18. There is no cost and lunch will be provided. Several pro-life organizations are sponsoring an essay contest for elementary, middle-school and high-school students. Students are invited to write a 500-word essay based on one of two provided prompts and submit their entry by Nov. 7. CCS’ Basic Needs Salt Lake is in need of winter weather donations to support clients experiencing homelessness as temperatures drop. Donation needs include coats, pants, men’s clothing, blankets, scarves, gloves, socks, sweatshirts, and more to keep clients warm. Donations can be made weekdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. at 437 West 200 South, SLC.
