First Sunday of Advent — Sunday, Dec. 2. Check your parish for Mass times.

Sotto Voce concert — Sunday, Dec. 2, 4 p.m. The Sotto Voce vocal quartet, along with organist Dr. Myron Patterson, will present a concert of Christmas and Advent music in a variety of styles from diverse traditions at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Free admission.

Advent Parish Mission — Dec. 2-6 at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. The Family Eucharistic Crusade, led by Fr. Louis Guardiola, will kick off Sunday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Conferences will be Monday through Thursday at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mass, Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament and Confession daily.

Lighting of the Nativity Display — Monday, Dec. 3, 5 p.m. in Give Me A Chance’s Guadalupe Garden, 2913 Grant Ave., Ogden.

Advent Penance Service— Monday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. Priests will be available to hear confessions in English and Spanish.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena  — Dec. 3-11 at the homes of St. Rose of Lima parishioners. Call the parish office, 801-544-4269, for information.

Nativity Scene Blessing —Tuesday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton.

Young Adult Reflection Night & Social — Wednesday, Dec. 5, 6 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Young adults in their 20s and 30s will gather for fellowship, reflection, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Rev. Joe Delka, parochial vicar of the Cathedral of the Madeline, will offer an Advent reflection. Fellowship starts at 6 p.m.; reflection at 7 p.m. followed by Adoration and the opportunity for reconciliation. Christmas Family Day — Thursday, Dec. 6. Holiday ornament making at 11:30 a.m.; carol sing and story from St. Nicholas at 12:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeline, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Free and open to the public.

Lux Dei — Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. The Juan Diego Fine Arts Department Christmas production provides a fresh perspective on the birth and life of Christ. Cost: $5/students, $8/adults.
