SALT LAKE CITY — Alfonso P. Moya, 72, died July 28, 2011.

Moya was born in Abiquiu, N. M. on April 7, 1939 to Benjamin and Faustina Garcia Moya. He married Gloria Suazo in 1961. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the Tooele Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Matthew, grandson Patrick, brothers Edward Joe and Ben, sisters Carol and Phyllis.

He is survived by his son Al (Terri) Jr., daughter Shirley (Perfecto) Maez; step-daughters Victoria (Bobby) Apadaca, Angelina (Saad) Adidou; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and sisters Teresa and Stella.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
