SALT LAKE CITY — Alfred David "Chiefy" Montoya, 62, passed away on Oct. 17, 2012. Montoya was born Sept. 23, 1950 in Salt Lake City to Anthony and Ophelia Garcia Montoya, Sr. He married Leona Valencia on May 26, 1990. He drove for Yellow Cab for 30 years. Montoya is survived by his wife, Leona; sons Daniel Montoya and Rob Archuleta; brothers and sisters Dennis Montoya (Natalie), Carol, Gene Montoya, Rose, and Cindy (Barney) Martinez; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Montoya was preceded in death by his son, Jesse; parents; five brothers; one sister and seven nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
