Ann Frances Ross

OGDEN — Ann Frances Ross passed away on June 17, 2015. 
Ross was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Riverdale, N.Y. to Howard C. Spracher and Ann M. McEwen. She married John F. Ross, Jr., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden, on Nov. 3, 1942. She was an active member of St. Mary Parish. She attended the Smithsonian Business College and the Dictaphone Corporation. She was employed with the United States government at the Ogden arsenal in procurement and the DDO, and then worked for Auerbach’s and Castleton’s department stores in downtown Ogden.
Ross was active in many charity and civic organizations during her life. In her early years she was a counselor for Girl’s State at Utah State University. She served as president of the following organizations: Benevolent Patriotic Order of the Does, Ogden Drove #27, Lady Elks; American Business Women’s Association, Mt. Ogden-Ben Lomond Chapter, where she was the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award; Cosmopolitan Club; charter member of the Roy Senior Citizens; Ogden Eagle Auxiliary; Rocky Mountain Air Force; Footprinters and American Legion Auxiliary Associations.
Ross is survived by one son and two daughters: Howard J. Ross, Patricia Ann Burback (Tom), and Mary L. Hurlburt (Lance); two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Joel Marie; and brother, William J. Spracher.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
