Diocesan Pastoral Congress — Saturday, Sept. 22, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 11600 South 300 East, Draper. Congress includes workshops and keynote addresses in English or Spanish, and Celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop John C. Wester presiding. 5K Peace Walk —Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. beginning at the First Unitarian Church, 600 South 1300 East, and ending at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S. State St., SLC. The Utah Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the nuclear testing moratorium and rally to support ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. A short program/rally at 1:30 p.m. will include words of inspiration from Emma Lou Thayne and Pete Ashdown.

Year of Faith — Thursday, Oct. 11, the "Year of Faith" proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI will open around the world. In the Diocese of Salt Lake City, Bishop John C. Wester will open the Year of Faith on Oct. 11 with a "Noon Day Prayer" service at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. The service will be about 30 minutes. All are invited.
