Carmelite Fair — Sept. 15, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Carmelite Monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. The Carmelite Fair is the main source of income for the nuns; support them by donating to and participating in the event. Donations can be dropped off at the monastery or picked up upon arrangement. Christ in the City — Tuesday, Sept. 3, 6:30 p.m. in The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. An hour of Eucharistic Adoration, scripture reading, reflection time, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation for young adults (ages 18–35) with Father Martin Diaz. Folk Fest — Sept. 6-8, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Car show, golf tournament, games for all ages, rides for the kids, great food and live music.

Bingo and Dinner — Friday, Sept. 6, 6 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Rd., Sandy. Cost is $14 and you must be 18 years old to play Bingo.

Annual Harvest Festival — Saturday, Sept. 7, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Food, car show, farmer’s market, entertainment, 5k run and kids activities. For information call 801-621-7961.

Prayer walk for immigrants — Sunday, Sept. 8, 4-6 p.m., beginning at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 235 S. Rio Grande St., SLC and ending with Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. The 2.2-mile "Journey of Hope with Immigrants and the Poor" is organized by the Diocese of Salt Lake City Peace and Justice Commission.

Lecture Series — Monday, Sept. 9, 7 p.m. at the Saint Vincent de Paul Benvegnu Center, 1385 Spring Lane, SLC. The first in this series will be "Stewardship in the Gospel of Luke," presented by Deacon Michael Bulson.

Saint Francis of Assisi Bingo — Friday, Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Cost is $14.

8th Annual Fall Festival — Saturday, Sept. 14, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., at Saint Lawrence Church, 100 W. Center St. in Heber City. Games, petting zoo, face painting, Pawsatch Snow Dog rides for the children, beer garden, farmer’s market, silent auction, and more. The money raised at this event will be used for upkeep and repairs of the church building.

Fall Fest — Sunday, Sept. 15, beginning with 11 a.m. Mass at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Picnic and carnival to follow in the Bell Tower circle.

"Convalidation Strategies" — Thursday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m. in the Bishop Federal Room, 27 C St., SLC. The Family Life Office will host a conference call, "Convalidation Strategies - How to Bring Marriages into the Church." The call should last one hour with discussion afterwards. Bring a lunch, drinks will be provided.

Saint Joseph Schools Golf Tournament — Sunday, Sept. 22, 7:30 a.m. with Mass at the Ogden Golf and Country Club, 4197 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden. Chance to win one- year tuition for a student at either the high school or elementary school. Cost is $100 entry fee per person. Bishop’s Dinner 10th Anniversary — The Bishop’s Dinner supports the Cathedral of the Madeleine. This year it will be Sept. 26 at the The Grand America Hotel, 500 S. Main Street, SLC. The guest speaker will be the Most Reverend George H. Niederauer, Archbishop emeritus of San Francisco and the eighth Bishop of Salt Lake City. Eucharistic Adoration — Saint Vincent de Paul Parish is adding Wednesday evening Eucharistic Adoration to its regular Adoration schedule in the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Mass Time Change — Saint Francis Xavier Parish weekday Mass times have changed starting Aug. 12. The English Mass will be at 9 a.m. and the Spanish Mass at 6 p.m.
