Novena for Our Lady of Guadalupe — Beginning Dec. 3, each night there will be Mass in Spanish at 6 p.m., followed by a rosary, Benediction and a reception in the gym. On Dec. 11 at midnight there will be Mañanitas, Mass, Benediction and roses. On the last day of the novena, Dec. 12, Mass will be celebrated at noon and 6 p.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns.

Fall Social — Saturday, Nov. 23, 2:30 p.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church’s Benvegnu Center, 1300 E. Kings Row Drive, SLC. Hosted by St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Deaf Club. Socializing and information about interpreted Masses, and religious education for adults or children. Benefit concert — Sunday, Nov. 24, 5 p.m. at the Juan Diego Catholic High School auditorium, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Benefit concert for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the central Philippines, featuring Dr. Rey P. Road and the Misang Bayan Choir, among others. Free admission; donations accepted during the concert.

Vocation Awareness Weekend — Monday, Nov. 25, 7-8:30 p.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Children’s Nutcracker Ballet — Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 7, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Juan Diego Catholic High School, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Tickets are $10 adults; $8 children, seniors and students. Every year the Prince is a guest artist; this year it is Jake Duke, a graduate of Ballet West Academy and on scholarship at the University of Utah Ballet Department. Advent Retreat, Moab — Saturday Dec. 7, 9 a.m. at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 122 West 400 North, Moab. Led by Fr. Peter Do, pot luck lunch, and bring your own Bible. Cost is $10 and registration is due by Nov. 30.

Advent Day of Prayer and Reflection — Saturday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m. – noon at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Hosted by the Diocese of Salt Lake City Offices of Liturgy and Hispanic Ministry. The retreat offers sessions for English and Spanish-speaking communities. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception — has been moved to Monday, Dec. 9 and is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year, although it is the patronal feast of the United States of America. Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Madeleine at 8 a.m., noon (with the Choristers and students of the Madeleine Choir School) and 5:15 p.m.

The Good Samaritan Program — The Cathedral of the Madeleine is in dire need of coats, socks, hats and gloves for the homeless. Items can be delivered Monday-Friday 830 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cathedral Rectory, 331 East South Temple, SLC.

Accepting Students — Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Sandy has five spots available in 4-year old pre-kindergarten (academic), four spots available in kindergarten (full day), limited availability in 5th & 7th grades.
