Holiday Food Drive — Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 17-19, CCS will provide over 1,400 people with holiday food boxes. Donations of turkeys, canned cranberries and yams, etc. can be dropped off at any CCS location. Distribution of the holiday food boxes will take place at the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Ogden.

JDCHS Orchestral Christmas Concert — Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Juan Diego CHS Auditorium, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Featuring JD Orchestra, JD String Quartet, SJBM Intermediate Orchestra, SJBM Beginning Orchestra, SJB Elementary Orchestra, and Saint Andrew Orchestra students. Free and open to the public.

Christmas Carol Services — Monday, Dec. 17 and Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 East South Temple, SLC.

Penance Service — Tuesday Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy.

Saint Ambrose Concert — Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Church, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Celebrate an evening of nine Lessons and Carols, hear the new Roper Memorial Pipe Organ and see the parish choir of St. Ambrose. Free and open to the public.

"A Ceremony of Carols" — Thursday, Dec. 21 at 12: 15 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E.South Temple, SLC. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine will perform Benjamin Britten’s "A Ceremony of Carols."

Christmas Mass — Monday, Dec. 24, Masses at 4:30 and 9 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 25 ,Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1067 South 1100 East, SLC.

New Year’s Eve Party — Monday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish Hall, 7405 S. Redwood Rd. West Jordan. Wedding Workshop — Saturday, Jan. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Saint Vincent Benvegnu Center, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Pastors, deacons, parish wedding coordinators and musicians are invited to attend. Father John Norman will speak. Registration is due by Wednesday, Jan. 2. Cathedral Ministry Conference — Jan. 7-10 at the Downtown Marriott at City Creek, 75 S. West Temple, SLC. Hosted by the Cathedral of the Madeleine, speakers will include Rev. Michael Ryan, St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA; Sr. Patricia Wittberg from Indiana University and Fr. Robert Barron, Rector of Mundelein Seminary and creator of "Word On Fire". Tickets to see Fr. Gift of the Drummer — Through the Gift of the Drummer program, CCS will provide holiday gifts to over 1,000 low-income and refugee children. To be assigned a child or children, email drummer@ccsutah.org. These children will otherwise receive nothing for Christmas.

USCCB Special Collection — The U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops will sponsor a special collection during the Advent and Christmas seasons to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy. Funds from the Collection for the Church in Latin America and Catholic Relief Services already have been designated to support relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the Caribbean. Funds collected will be used to support the efforts of the USCCB and Catholic Charities USA, the official domestic relief agency of the U.S. Catholic Church, to respond to immediate emergency needs and to the long-term pastoral and reconstruction needs of the church.
