Pro-life Silver Rose — Tuesday, July 2, the Silver Rose will be exposed at the 6:30 p.m. Spanish Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem.  

Fourth of July — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Thursday, July 4, for Independence Day. It will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5.

First Friday Mass and Rosary — Friday, July 5, 12:10 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center, 170 South University, SLC. Sponsored by the Catholic Woman’s League; everyone is invited to attend.  Lunch after at The Other Place.  

St. Francis of Assisi Parish Game Night — Friday, July 5 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. $14. Dinner at 6:30 p.m.; games start at 7 p.m.

First Saturday Bilingual Mass — Saturday, July 6, 8 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. It will be preceded by the recitation of the rosary at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Pro-life Silver Rose — Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. The rose will be exposed at the 5 and 7 p.m. vigil Masses and the 9 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday Masses.

Pro-life Silver Rose — Tuesday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 10, at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC; hosted by Knights of Columbus Council 602. The rose will be exposed during the 8 a.m. and 5:15 daily Masses and the whole evening on July 10, concluding with Christ in the City: Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

St. Patrick Parish Anniversary — Saturday, July 13. 11 a.m. at the church, 1040 West 400 South, SLC. Mass presided by Bishop Oscar A. Solis; outdoor luncheon to follow. Adult meals are $12; children’s meals are $6. Tickets must be purchased by July 7; contact the parish office.

Hispanic Safe Environment Adult Certification Classroom Training — Wednesday, July 17, 6 p.m. at the Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center, 27 C St., SLC. Hosted by the Office of Safe Environment and Hispanic Ministry Office. Safe environment certification is required every three years. Training contains adult content. Diocesan Patron Saint Celebration — Sunday, July 21, 6 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. A bilingual Mass will be celebrated in honor of Mary Magdalene, patron saint of the Diocese of Salt Lake City. A party in the plaza will follow.

Rosary and Holy Hour — Sunday, July 21, 3 p.m. at the Carmelite monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. All are invited to join the Knights of Columbus Council #5214 and the Carmelite nuns to praise God, honor His Mother and pray for our Holy Catholic Church.

Catholic Lagoon Day — Sunday, July 21 at Lagoon’s Canyon Terrace. Mass at noon, followed by family fun games. Discount single day passports will be available for $50.24 ($46.95 plus tax). Ask for the Catholic Lagoon Day Discount at any ticket window. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 602.

Pioneer Day — Wednesday, July 24. The Pastoral Center will be closed for the state holiday. It will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 25.

Social Action Summer Institute — “Two Feet, One Voice: Building a Home for All.” July 25-28 at the University of Utah. The cost is $335 for the four-day institute or $75 for the July 28 workshop day. For information, contact Jean Hill by email at jean.hill@dioslc.org.

Catholics Can Award — Nominations are being accepted for the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s Catholics Can Award by the Diocesan Commission for People with Disabilities. This annual award is given to an individual, parish or organization that ensures meaningful participation by people with disabilities in Catholic parish life. For the nomination packet, contact Carol Ruddell, 801-440-8729, or Dolores Lopez, (801) 328-8641. Nominations are due by July 1.
