Clean Air Rally — Monday, March 5, 1:15 p.m. in the Utah State Capitol Building rotunda. Join students from the Madeleine Choir School, Judge Memorial CHS and numerous other elementary, middle and high schools along the Wasatch Front to influence Utah State legislators on the issue of clean air.

Lenten Tuesdays — focusing on Bishop Robert Barron’s Catholicism series, with study guide and discussion. 10-11:30 a.m. in St. George Parish’s Scanlan Building. The March 6 session will be “Our Tainted Nature’s Solitary Boast:  Mary, the Mother of God.” For information, contact Billie Richardson, 801-971-5478. Free.

Fish Fry — Friday, March 9, 5-7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Elementary School, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Cost: $6-$8 for the fish fry, $13 for the chef’s special. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 12181. The youth group will provide desserts as a fundraiser for upcoming activities. Utah Coalition Against P*rnography’s Conference — Saturday, March 10, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Salt Palace Convention Center Rm. 255, 100 S. West Temple, SLC. Jones, Primary General President for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; closing speaker is Dr. John D. Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday, March 11, 8 p.m. in Libby Gardner Hall, 1375 Presidents Circle, SLC. Crista Miller, director of music and cathedral organist at Houston’s Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, will perform. Free and open to the public.

Parish Lenten Retreat — Sunday-Monday, March 11-12 at St. John the Baptist Church, 300 E 11800 South, Draper. Brian Niebrugge, husband and father of six, will speak on “Stewardship in the Family.” Separate events for men, women and grandparents, as well as sessions for all. Msgr. Benvegnu Lecture — Monday, March 12, 7 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Ruth Dillon, director of the diocesan Office of Liturgy, will present “Understanding Holy Week,” which is designed to help parishioners prepare to celebrate the Triduum. Free and open to the public.

St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner — Sunday, March 18, 2-6 p.m. in the Saint Joseph the Worker Parish hall. Tickets are available after all weekend Masses or at the parish office weekdays 8-3 p.m. Cost: $12/adults, $8/children age 6 to 12; children 5 and under are free. Lenten Mission — Monday-Wednesday, March 19-21 at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. Presented by Fr. Richard Gielow, this will be a time of special grace, personal growth and reflection, with a Mass and mission each day at 9 a.m. and again at 7 p.m., with a social afterward for conversation and questions with the presenter. All are invited.

Assistive Listening Devices —Up to 20 percent of all people have some degree of hearing loss. The Commission for People with Disabilities assists parishes with the purchase of Assistive Listening Devices so that everyone can hear and understand what is spoken at Mass. Commission for People with Disabilities — is seeking interested people to serve. Consider nominating yourself or someone to the Diocesan Commission for People with Disabilities. The commission meets monthly to implement the Diocese Master Plan to include all Catholics with disabilities in the faith life of the diocese and parishes. To be considered, contact your pastor.
