Genocide Remembrance Service — Friday, May 1, 7 p.m. at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 231 East 100 South, SLC. This special liturgy is offered in remembrance of genocide victims with emphasis on the Armenian genocide.

St. Thomas More Dinner and Game Night — Friday, May 1, 6 p.m., games beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Parish’s Meyer Hall, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Cost is $14, includes dinner and games.  Must be 18 years or older to attend.

Social Mission Series — Faith foundations, practical skills and planning opportunities will be presented and practiced in a two-part series. These two training days will be offered bilingually English/Spanish. It is recommended that two to four people from a parish attend. May 2, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Pastoral Center, 27 C St., SLC. Empty Bowls — fundraiser for Catholic Community Services. Purchase a ceramic bowl crafted by a local artist or student. Saturday, May 2, noon – 4 p.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Dining Hall, 437 West 200 South SLC.

OLOL (SLC) Game Night — Saturday, May 2, 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Social Hall, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. Cost for games is $15 and a hoagie dinner is $5.

Youth Track and Field Event — All young area athletes are encouraged to participate in the annual Christ the King Youth Track & Field Fun with mini-clinics and competitions to be held at Judge Memorial Catholic High School’s McCarthey Stadium, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Festival of Roses — May 15-17 at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 300 East 11800 South, Draper.  The festival is open to the entire community and offers live entertainment, carnival rides, games, silent auction, 5K race and Family Fun Walk, classic car show and more. Retreat for a Woman’s Soul — Saturday, May 16, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church; 100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Worship leader will be Father Carl Schlichte, O.P. Cost is $15, which provides a light breakfast, lunch, refreshments and materials. This retreat provides a time to listen and share experiences, a time to laugh and spend time with friends, and a time to find how God is close to us throughout the many different seasons of our lives. Three-night Mission — May 17-19, 7-8 p.m. each evening at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City. Father James Sichko, a renowned motivational speaker and Pastor of St. Mark’s Parish in Richmond, Ky., will lead the mission. He is the author of Among Friends. No reservation is needed to attend.

St. Mary Stampede Rodeo/Carnival — Thursday, May 28, 4 p.m. at Hooper Park, 5600 South 6300 West, Hooper. Ben German, Broken Heart Rodeo Co., will provide his championship stock. Carnival, food, music and vendors will be present May 28-30. 

40 Hours of Devotion — A special 40-hour period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Each parish in the diocese has been scheduled for a week of this devotion. Saint James the Just Parish, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden, will host the devotion on Tuesday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Impact Dance — after-school and summer dance program at Juan Diego CHS, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Classes will be offered for kids aged 5+, from beginner to advanced. Taught by Matthew Delly. Open to the public. For information contact 480-734-1480 or email matthewdelly@jdchs.org.
