Empty Bowls Fundraiser — Saturday, May 4, from noon to 4 p.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Dining Hall, 437 West 200 South, SLC. The fundraiser benefits the dining hall. Entry is free; handmade bowls are $15 each. 

Dedication Anniversary — Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m., at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. A prayer service and reception will be celebrated for the second anniversary of the dedication of the new church.

Dream Builder’s Breakfast — Thursday, May 2, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Summit Hotel & Conference Center, 247 24th St., Ogden. Learn about the CCS’ mission and honor the people who have served throughout the past year. Cost is $25 per person, or table of 10 for $250. Our Lady of Lourdes School Walkathon — Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. at the Judge Memorial CHS field, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. The walkathon is to encourage student fitness and school spirit, and raise money to benefit outdoor recreation enhancement at the school. Cash and refreshment sponsorships needed. Holy Cross Associate Gathering — Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the office of Holy Cross Ministries, 860 East 4500 South, Ste. 204, SLC. The topic will be "God’s Providence." This will be the last time that Sister Miriam and Sister Martha will be at the gathering as they prepare to take the next steps in following God’s direction for their lives.

The Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities — Sunday, May 5, at 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Playwright and author David Kranes’ presentation of "A Playwright’s Education – the Winding Journey between I and We." Free and open to the public. For information visit www.utcotm.org.

International Rosary March — Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, SLC. The Rosary March is timed to correspond with others reciting the rosary around the world. Level II training — Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pastoral Center, 27 C St., SLC. Training for those who minister Communion at Mass. Pre-registration is required; a $10 workshop fee covers books and materials. Level I training is required before attending this workshop. Family Movie Night — Saturday, May 11, 7 p.m. in the Saint Ambrose Parish hall, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. The movie is "Soul Surfer." The event is sponsored by the Diocesan Commission for People with Disabilities to raise funds to send Utahns to the national Catholic conference. Cost is $5 per person, $10 per family. The Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities — Sunday, May 12, at 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine will perform "Bach and Poulenc." The "Gloria" from this piece is one of the most celebrated works by Poulenc. Free and open to the public. Saint Paul Parish’s Driving for Charity — Saturday, May 18 at Sky Mountain Golf Course, 985 N. Sky Mountain Blvd., Hurricane. The tournament will raise funds for the Southern Utah Veterans Coalition, the DOVE Center and local Catholic charities.
