Mass at Alta — Beginning Sunday, Nov. 25 at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Alta. Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. every Sunday throughout the ski season; Mass on Christmas Day will be at 10 a.m. Our Lady of the Snows is located directly across the highway from Alta Lodge.

Barnes & Noble Bookfair and Panda Express Fundraiser — Thursday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Barnes & Noble 1104 East 2100 South, Sugarhouse. Sponsored by Kearns-Saint Ann School. If attending, mention the school name at checkout or at the Café, they will receive a percentage of their sales. Panda Express in Sugarhouse will also be participating in the fundraiser the same night from 4 to 9 p.m. Kearns-Saint Ann School will receive 20 percent of sales when you visit them for dinner. Vouchers areavailable at the Greeting Table at Barnes & Noble.

St. Thomas Aquinas Concert — Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park. "Wintersongs," featuring the USU Chorale and the USU Women’s Choir, as well as brass instruments, bells, a candlelight processional, and congregational singing. The concert is free and open to the public.

Diocesan Advent Retreat — Sunday, Dec. 2, following the 9 a.m. Mass, at Saint George Catholic Church, 259 West 200 North, St. George. Presenter is Father Dan Dorsey, a Glenmary missionary and resource person from the Congar Institute for Ministry Development. Lunch is included. Advent Penance Service — Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Saint Catherine of Siena/Newman Center, 170 University St., SLC. Begins with a potluck at 6 p.m. Members are asked to bring a side dish or salad for 12 people. The Advent penance service will be at 7 p.m., followed by Mass at 9 p.m.

Utah Children’s Nutcracker Ballet — Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Juan Diego CHS auditorium, 11800 South 300 East, Draper. Newman Center Advent retreat — Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a day of reflection, discussion, and prayer. "Enough is Enough: Your Grace is Enough." St. Francis of Assisi Bingo — Friday Dec 14, beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and Bingo starting at 7 p.m. at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Cost is $14. Come out and have an enjoyable evening.

Holiday Food Drive — Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 17-19, CCS will provide over 1,400 people with holiday food boxes. Donations of turkeys, canned cranberries and yams, etc. can be dropped off at any CCS location. Distribution of the holiday food boxes will take place at the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Ogden.

In Honor of those Who Served — In memory of those who have served, the American Legion of Helper is designing a memorial with all of the names of the past veterans buried and future veterans, to be placed in the Helper Cemetery. The Legion is looking for design ideas for the monument. Submit your ideas to Worley Monument, Charles Hamilton or Dan Cummins. There is also an account set up at Wells Fargo Bank called "Helper Veterans Monument Memorial" to help offset the costs. To add a name to the list, contact Louise, 435-472-3859 or 435-650-0540.

Gift of the Drummer — Through the Gift of the Drummer program, CCS will provide holiday gifts to over 1,000 low-income and refugee children. To be assigned a child or children, email drummer@ccsutah.org.
