Pastoral Center Closed — For the New Year’s holiday, the Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Thursday through Monday, Dec. 31-Jan. 4, and reopen at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. Happy New Year!

Concert for the Epiphany — Jan. 3, 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, 946 South 200 East, SLC. The free performance by the heArt Music Ensemble will feature Gregorian chant and works by Lassus, Weckmann, Buxtehude, Telemann, Lübeck and Charpentier. Open to the public.

Mini-Cheer Clinic — Judge Memorial CHS’ cheer squad will hold a mini-cheer clinic for girls and boys in grades first through fifth. After the two-day clinic on Jan. 4 and Jan. 7, participants will sit in the “Spirit Section” for the Jan. 8, varsity boys’ basketball game, help lead cheers, and perform at halftime. Drop-in-Tours — The Madeleine Choir School will host three drop-in-tours in January: Thursday, Jan. 7, 1-3 p.m.; Tuesday, Jan. 19, 9:30-11:30 a.m.; and Tuesday, Jan. 26, 9:30-11:30 a.m. No appointment necessary; stop by for information and a tour of the campus. Placement Exam — Judge Memorial CHS will hold the annual Placement Exam for incoming ninth-graders for the 2016-2017 school year on Saturday, Jan. 9. Check in is at 7:45 a.m. in the auditorium. Pre-registration by Jan. 7 is requested. The placement exam will last for approximately one hour; students will then receive a 15-minute break. Boy Scout & Cub Scout — An informational meeting to form a troop for the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish will be held Monday, Jan. 11, 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the cathedral in Rooms 1 & 2. Aquinas Lecture — Sunday, Jan. 24, 12:30 p.m.. St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center, 170 University St., SLC. This year’s lecturer is Edwina Gateley: poet, theologian, artist, writer, lay minister and single mother. She will  speak about her experiences serving others and how God may be calling each person to serve. Free and open to the public.
