Red Mass — Friday, Sept. 14, noon at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Recognizes those in the legal professions. Free and open to the public.

Festa Italiana — Italian street festival sponsored by the Italian-American Civic League of Utah. Sept. 15-16; Saturday, noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. at The Gateway, 400 West 100 South, SLC. Free and open to the public. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Catholic Community Services.

Carmelite Fair — Sunday, Sept. 16, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 5714 Holladay Blvd., Holladay. Forced to Flee — Thursday, Sept. 27, 5-7:30 p.m. at the Gallivan Center, 239 Main St., SLC. Experience the journey of becoming a refugee, guided by former refugees who have first-hand experience. Sponsored by Catholic Community Services of Utah. Free and open to the public.

Reservation Deadline — is Sept. 28 for the Catholic Woman’s League Fall Benefit Luncheon. Tickets: $38; mail reservations with payment to Jenny Maffuccio, 13297 N. Scout Religious Emblems — Now is the time for all Catholic scouts (Girl, Cub, Boy and Venturers) to begin work on their respective religious emblems. Awarding of emblems is tentatively scheduled on Scout Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Cathedral of the Madeleine with Bishop Oscar A. Solis presiding.
