Stations of the Cross — All services are on Fridays during Lent, with times listed by parish.
• Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC: 6 p.m. in English; 7 p.m. in Spanish
• Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden; 7 p.m.
• St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns, 6 p.m. in English, 7 p.m. in Spanish
• St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden: 5:30 p.m. in English, 7 p.m. in Spanish. A bowl of meatless hot soup will be served to everyone in the social hall after the English Stations of the Cross. Donations will be accepted to support the jail ministry.
• St. Patrick Parish, 1058 West 400 South, Salt Lake City: 6 p.m. except Good Friday, when Stations will be at noon.

Cathedral Holy Week:
The Cathedral of the Madeleine will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. Compline will follow at 9 p.m., then Veneration of the Eucharist from 9:15 p.m. to midnight. On Good Friday, April 3, the Passion of the Lord will be in English at noon, followed at 3 p.m. by the choral meditation “Stabat Mater.” Stations of the Cross in English will be at 5:30 p.m. The Passion of the Lord in Spanish will be at 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, the Sacrament of Penance will be offered from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vespers will be sung at 6 p.m. The Easter Vigil Mass will be at 8:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be celebrated in English at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon. Mass in Spanish will be at 3 p.m. Vespers and Benediction will be at 5 p.m.  
Lenten Retreats:
• The Diocese of Salt Lake City Lenten Retreat, Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. The retreat leader in English will be Sister Linda Marie Bolinski, and the retreat leader in Spanish will be Cecilia von Bertrab. Cost: $10 per person, includes catered lunch. • Saint Mary Parish & Militia Immaculatae will offer the “Bringing Light into the Darkness” Lenten retreat Sunday, March 15, 1-6 p.m. at the church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. • The Diocese of Salt Lake City Young Adult Lenten Retreat will be Sunday, March 22, 1 - 6:30 p.m., followed by Mass at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 690 South Cove Drive, Cedar City. • Knights of Columbus Fish Fry: Fridays, Feb. 20 - March 27 at St. Marguerite Catholic Church, at 15 South 7th St., Tooele. Service starts at 5:30 p.m. after Stations of the Cross. Cost for three pieces is $8; $6 for two pieces. 
• The Dynamic Catholics are inviting others to join their study of the Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic by Matthew Kelly on Friday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. in Saint Joseph Catholic Church’s social hall, 514 24th St., Ogden, for a study on becoming the best version of ourselves. Some books will be available free of charge. The discussion will begin promptly after the Stations of the Cross and soup dinner. 
Focus on St. Francis of Assisi — Dominican Father Augustine Thompson will speak on “St. Francis of Assisi: The Saint and the Man” Sunday, March 8, 12:30 p.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena Newman Center, 170 University St., SLC. Fr. Thompson, author of Francis: A New Biography, is a professor of history and chairman of the Philosophy Department at the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology in Berkeley, Calif. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Our Lady of Lourdes Open House — Tuesday, Feb. 24 1-3 p.m. Meet faculty, staff and parents to learn about the school’s academics, culture and diversity. Salt Lake Deanery Spring Luncheon — March 7, 11 a.m. at Saint Olaf Parish, 1800 S. Orchard Drive, Bountiful. Social begins at 11 a.m.; lunch and program at noon. St. Patrick’s Day Mass and Dinner — Sunday, March 15, sponsored by the Hibernian Society. A Mass in honor of St. Patrick will be held at 5 p.m.; from 4-8 p.m. the annual corned beef and cabbage dinner will be served at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Cost is $12 for adults and $8 for children.
‘Dead Man Walking’ talk — Tuesday, March 24, 7 p.m. at the Behnken House Westminster College, 1840 South 1300 East, SLC. Sister Helen Prejean will give a lecture on her book Dead Man Walking: an Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States. Free and open to the public. 
Prayer for vocations — A special 40-hour period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Each parish in the diocese has been scheduled for a week of this devotion. Saint Olaf Parish, 1800 S. Orchard Drive in Bountiful, will have the devotion Feb. 23-27.  Mass will be celebrated each day at noon, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
