SALT LAKE CITY — Art Hoffman, 76, passed away Feb. 5. Hoffman was born on April 1, 1937. He coached Little League football and basketball. He received the Pro Deo Juvante for God and Youth Papal Award for his service in the Catholic Youth Organization. He also was a 4th Degree Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council 5502, where he helped direct the completion of the McNamara Center. Hoffman was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in the late 1950s. He married Jeanell Goeckner at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Twin Falls, Idaho. Hoffman is survived by six children: Randy (Joni), Kim, Lonny, Scott (Lucinda), Greg and Mike (Amanda); 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hoffman was preceded in death by his wife; parents Lewis and Pearl; brother Earl; sister Deloris; grandson Weston and sons-in-law Bob Reilly and Kent Carter. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Olaf Catholic Church.
