Bishop Wester calls diocese to pick up the cross for Lent

During the Ash Wednesday celebration at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, the Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, called Utah's Catholics to pray, fast and give alms during the 40 days of Lent, in preparation for Easter.

"Lent is a time that we look at the cross because we can only get to Easter through the cross," Bishop Wester said.
