Bishop Wester celebrates adult confirmations

The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for adults in the Cathedral of the Madeleine twice in recent weeks, on May 18 and June 1. About 100 people total were confirmed.

In his homily at both Masses, Bishop Wester told the confirmandi, "as you are confirmed today, you are called to … live your faith. There will be times when living the faith won’t seem that difficult ... but there will be other times when it will be very, very difficult to live the faith." However, the Holy Spirit gives the gifts needed to live as the Body of Christ, he said. Regularly attending Mass is essential, "that you might be nourished by Christ in word and sacrament," Bishop Wester added. "The journey that you’ve been on is just beginning, and God will continue to instill in you the graces you need." SEE MORE PHOTOS ON FACEBOOK.
