SALT LAKE CITY — A weekly radio show hosted by the Most Rev. John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake City, that will present topics of interest to Catholics living in the Diocese of Salt Lake City will begin broadcasting next week. "Bishop Wester was delighted with the opportunity to be able to communicate over the radio with so many Catholics in the local Church," said Colleen Gudreau, director of communications for the diocese. "He is grateful for Immaculate Heart Radio for the opportunity." Catholic Utah Now’s first program, "The Easter Season," will be broadcast on April 6. In this segment, Bishop Wester, Dominican Father Peter Rogers, pastor of Saint Catherine of Siena Parish; Timothy Johnston, director of liturgy for the diocese; and Maxine Kaiser, former director of liturgy for the diocese, discuss the Easter Season and what it means for Catholics. Future topics include Vocations, What it Means to be a Multi-cultural Diocese, Catholic Community Services, the Sacrament of Confirmation, and Immigration Reform. Plans also are underway to record programs recorded at the three Catholic high schools in the diocese . The program also is formatted to answer questions Catholics in the Salt Lake diocese have about their faith. Questions should be sent to colleen.gudreau@dioslc.org. "The Easter Season" will air on Immaculate Heart Radio 1010AM on Tuesday, April 6, at 10 a.m. Encores will be on Wednesday, April 7, at 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 10, at 3 p.m.
