Camille S. Mares

SALT LAKE CITY — Camille S. Mares died Sept. 25, of cancer.

Mares was born Sept. 13, 1946, in Memphis, Tenn., to Peggy Stice Holtz and James Sandlin. She married Martin E. Mares July 17, 1965, in Salt Lake City. She spent more than 40 years in the insurance business. She began in 1966 with Ed D. Smith and Sons, now First Security Insurance, where she obtained her license in 1970, and was operations manager until 1979. She was a personal lines agent for Robert L. Nicholls Insurance. In 1981, she started working for Grant-Hatch, later Zion’s Insurance, where in 1986, she was obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation. She was an active member of the National Association of Insurance Women, and became a Certified Professional Insurance Women in 1995. She also served on the Utah Insurance Licensing Examination Review Committee. She loved to entertain, was very organized, and was an avid reader. She was the perfect wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal was in Redwood Memorial Estates.
