Crescencio B. Cordova

SALT LAKE CITY — Crescencio B. Cordova, 85, passed away Nov. 18, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Cordova was born July 21, 1926 in Durango, Colo., to Crescencio B. and Agnes Cordova. He married Evelyn Anne Martinez; later divorced. He was a member of United Steelworkers Local #485, the Hispanic Democratic Caucus, Utah Immigration Project, Sociedad Mutualista Mexicana Miguel of Bingham Canyon, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, Utah Hispanic Association and Utah Seniors Legislation. He was a devout member of Saint Ann Catholic Church, where he spent Saturday afternoons praying for hours before proudly handing out prayer books.

Cordova is survived by his only child, Christine (Tina) Cordova; sister Mildred Romero, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and older brothers, all whom were veterans.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ann Catholic Church.
