SALT LAKE CITY — Daniel Ray Medel, 63, passed away from health issues May 3, 2013. Medel was born Dec. 25, 1949 to Albert and Susan Medel in Torrance, Calif. He worked as a machinist. Medel was preceded in death by father Albert and sister Lydia Doepner. Medel is survived by mother Susan, siblings Linda Higginson and Albert Medel, daughters Jessica Medel and Shelby Medel, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and others in his extended family. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
